So the other day I was coming from the dart van, entering Chestnut Hall through the the basement and right next to the door there is a huge flier that's probably two feet and half long and one foot and half of width. The title is in cap letters and they decided to use a very goofy font that's bubblely. The title says, BECOME A SUPER HERO, BECOME AN RA!, and it has like three pictures that interfere with each other. The pictures show different kind of kids working together and doing different kind of group activities, smiling at the camera. Then at the bottom it says that you must attend one of the meetings under to apply enable to become an RA, and then under that they have a bunch of different dates with different meetings locations. All this is written in a goofy font in orange, the background of the flier is a solid blue, although you can't see it that well because the pictures are blocking it which are very big too.
This flier is to invite resident students who live on campus to become a Residential Assistant (RA) for the Residential Director (RD). Each Ra lives in a suite and they are in charge of the rest of the kids that live in that suite. They are in charge of making sure all the kids follow the rules, they have to make sure there's no alcohol and smoking in side the residential halls. Also from 7pm to 3am they have to sit at the lobby and roam the hallways to make sure that everything is on check. If they see anything inappropriate they have the right to call the University police and have the kids arrested if necessary. They are also the ones you come to with all your questions and if you accidently lock yourself out of your room, you can go to them so they can unlock your room because they have a set of keys that unlocks all the rooms. They also have the authority to come inside your room if they sense something weird, come knock on your door and you're not there or decide not to open the door.
This flier interested me a lot because I want to become an RA myself, because my intuition is very expensive and when you are an RA your residence and meals costs are free, however you do not get paid a salary. I would be very glad to become an RA because then all my expenses would be half of my tuition and I won't be in such a high debt in loans. Hopefully once I attend one of these meetings and apply to become an RA, I could the spot and be happy. :)
